Marrakech visit “Guided excursion of Marrakech”

Our Marrakech visit “Guided excursion” start after breakfast. We will meet our local guide of Marrakech and go on a walking guided visit with him to discover the red city monuments, markets, and Djamaa El Fna Square.

Visit Koutoubia Mosque:

We will start with Koutoubia the largest mosque in Marrakech with a nice look minaret. This mosque is also known as the Mosque of booksellers. It’s located in the southwest of the Medina in front of the famous Jamaa El Fna square.
The Koutoubia mosque was founded in 1147 by El Mohad Caliph Abd Elmumen
.

Visit Badi and Bahia Palace:

The palace of Badi was built by the Saadian dynasty in the 16th century. Now the palace preserves its amazing ruins, where storks and pigeons have chosen this palace to build their nests. Nearby, locates the palace Bahia which was built in the 19th century by the first Sultan Moulay Hassan. The Palace is also surrounded by a garden of shaded banquet halls, flower gardens, and fountains.

Visit Ben Youssef School “Madersa”:

We will visit Ben Youssef School “Madersa”, an Islamic Madersa in Marrakech city. Today, it’s functioning as one of the historical sites in Marrakech. Ben Youssef Madersa was the largest Islamic school in Morocco.
The madrasa is named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque, which was originally the main mosque of the city, founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali Ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142 ad.)

Visit Djamaa El Fna Square:

Djemaa El Fna is a famous square in Marrakech. During the day, you can find orange juice and water sellers in traditional leather water bags. You can also see snakes and monkey charmers. In the afternoon, the square gets crowded with music folklore, and dancers, you can also enjoy the view of the square by sitting in a cafe terrasse with a glass of mint tea or coffee. In the evening, you will meet the street food carts with traditional Moroccan food to enjoy a snack outside in the square.
The square is sided by the Marrakech market “Souk”, a traditional Moroccan market where you can buy spices or some souvenirs from the red city.
