Fes Marrakech 5 days desert tour overview:
During our 5 days from Fes to Marrakech, we will travel along the Middle Atlas mountains towards the desert dunes including an amazing 4×4 excursion of Merzouga dunes and the desert region. Other than that, we will enjoy a camel ride to see the sunset over the sand dunes with a night in a luxury desert camp with drums music. Our tour won’t stop just here, we will also travel towards the High Atlas with a nice trip to Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Afterward, we will travel to Marrakech over the High Atlas mountains.

5 days Fes Marrakech desert tour description:
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Middle Atlas – Midelt.
At 8:00 am, our driver will come to greet us at our accommodation, then start our 5 days Fes Marrakech desert trip by driving towards the fabulous mountainous city of Ifrane. According to your choice, we might take a stop in the city for a coffee and see the European village buildings. Afterward, we continue towards the Cedar forest of Azrou to see the Barbarian Apes while we have a chance to feed them and take some photos. After some time, we will depart towards Midelt crossing the first chapter of the Middle Atlas mountains. Upon our arrival at the Apple capital, we will check in for our rooms at our accommodation. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga desert dunes
After taking breakfast, we will depart for our Fes Marrakech 2nd day tour crossing the second chapter of the Middle Atlas mountains. Passing by the city of Errachidia to join the Valley of Ziz until we arrive at Erfoud city. This city is known for its best quality dates fruits also named as Fossil capital. While we are in the city, we will go for a guided geological visit to one of the Fossil workshops with a lunch break in the same city. Our desert tour continues in the afternoon by driving towards the desert dunes of Merzouga where we will be welcomed with a fresh drink while checking in for our rooms. Dinner and overnight in our Riad.
Day 3: Desert excursion on 4×4 including “Camel Trekking – Overnight in Luxury Desert Camp.
After we take breakfast, we will get ready for our adventure desert excursion with our driver. Start driving from our accommodation taking the off-road of Dakar Rally to approach the panoramic hill of Yasmina lake where we can see the whole sand dunes. Afterward, we depart to our next stop at one of the rock quarries, where people pick up the geology rocks for a workshop.
From that geological spot, we will drive along the desert fields on the way to the Nomad families to take an idea of how they like their Bedouin wild lifestyle. Not far from the nomad area, we will visit the eyeliner mines of Miffiss in the small volcanic hills. Before our desert day tour comes to the end, we will ensure we visited Khamlia village (This village is black people’s village where they settled for a long time after they came from African countries). While we are in that village, we will visit one of the Gnawa music houses where they play their soul music and enjoy a dance including a lunch break in the same area.
Sometime in the afternoon, we will drive to our accommodation to get ready for our Camel Trekking experience in the sand dunes. We will be accompanied by our Camelman during our camel ride to the top of the sand dunes to see one of the amazing sunsets. Then return by camels to our Luxury desert camp for dinner and overnight under the tents.
Day 4: Desert dunes – Tinjdad – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Dades Gorge.
Since we are in the middle of the Sand dunes, we can wake up early in the morning to see another amazing view of sunrise.
After we have breakfast in the camp restaurant, we will depart by leaving the sand dunes on the way to Rissani city which was the economic capital for the Camel caravan before. At this city, we might take a short visit inside its spices market, then continue our trip towards Tinjdad city where we will stop for our lunch break. Once we finish our lunch, our private driver will ensure everyone is ready to depart for our next destination which is Todra Gorge. Upon our arrival in Todra Gorge, we will walk under 300 Meters altitude of this Canyon, including a stop for a panoramic view of Todra Valley. Our journey continues towards Dades Valley passing by the Imider hills of Jabel Saghru. Once we arrive at Dades Valley, we will take our last stop at a rock formation which is known as “The Monkey Toes” because of its natural form. We then continue to our hotel for checking in with dinner and overnight included.
Day 5: Dades Gorge – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas mountains – Marrakech “End of our Fes Marrakech desert tour”.
Once we take breakfast, we will depart from Dades Gorge to join the Valley of the Rose and enjoy its amazing views. Afterward, we will approach the city of Ouarzazate which is known as the Hollywood of Africa, here we can take a stop to see the Kasbah of Taourirt. After some time, we will continue our journey towards the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou “a UNESCO heritage located in the foothills on the southern slopes. Here, our driver or guide will accompany us on a walking visit to this breathtaking Kasbah, walking in its alleys and stairs and rocks. After a while, we will return for lunch in one of the local restaurants.
After lunch, we will drive towards the High Atlas willing to approach Marrakech where our trip comes to the end.
