Marrakech to Merzouga 4 days
Tour description:
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we will start our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga by driving from Marrakech towards the mountains of the High Atlas with an altitude of 2600 Meters. These mountains are the gate between Marrakech and the South-east of Morocco. we can take some stops to enjoy the panoramic views of Morocco’s mountainous villages including a stop at one of the Argan workshops to see the Berber women making the Argan oil and products.
After 3 hours of driving, we then arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the UNESCO heritage located in the foothills on the southern slopes. Here, our driver or guide will accompany us on a walking visit to this breathtaking Kasbah, walking in its alleys and stairs and rocks. After a while, we will return for lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Our desert tour continues towards Dades Valley by passing Ouarzazate “the Hollywood of Africa”. Then continue towards Skoura Valley and the Valley of thousand kasbahs. Upon our arrival, we will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea while checking in for our rooms. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi desert dunes “Camel trekking – Overnight in Standard or Luxury Camp”.
Once we take our breakfast, we will depart for our second day by driving from Dades Valley towards the desert dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our first stop will be at Todra Valley to take some photos of the Jewish old houses, then continue towards the canyons of Todra with an altitude of 300 Meters. Walking under the canyons and enjoying the sounds of the water running in the river with a fresh breeze blowing on our faces. After a while, our trip will be continuing via a couple of Ksors “Berber villages” with another stop in Erfoud town “The fossil capital”. Our stop will be for lunch and visit one of the fossil and marble workshops in Erfoud. We then continue towards the Desert dunes of Erg Chebbi. Upon our arrival, we will go on camel trekking to see an amazing sunset accompanied by our English-speaking camel man. After our sunset time, we return by camels to our luxury desert camp for an evening party of drums with dinner and overnight under the tents. Our camps are fully prepared with private toilets and showers.
Day 3: Desert dunes – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Since we are in the heart of the sand dunes, we might want to wake up to see the sunrise over the sand dunes before our breakfast.
Breakfast in the camp’s restaurant then departs for our 3rd-day tour by driving along the desert fields of Acacia trees and passing by the village of Alnif before joining the Draa Palm Grove with thousands of Palm trees on the way to Ouarzazate “The Hollywood of Africa”.
Along the way, we will stop for our lunch in a restaurant before our trip continues. After lunch, we will be crossing the Ait Saouen mountains and arriving at Ouarzazate. According to your choice, we might stop to visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Cinema Studio of Ouarzazate ” The biggest Cinema Studio in Africa”. Afterward, we will drive to our Riad in the heart of Ouarzazate for the overnight.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech
Once we take breakfast, we get ready for our 4th-day tour from Ouarzazate back to Marrakech.
Driving along the High Atlas mountains on the way to approach Marrakech in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we will accompany you to your accommodation or Airport according to the tour program. End of our 4-day Marrakech desert tour.
